It's a very good prayer book, but I wonder why the prayer to the Holy Spirit does not always precede the Trisagion prayers?
I also would like to have the midnight prayer to the Theotokos included in the same style as the other translations. The early evening prayers should not be referred to as Vespers.
I did not know that the basilisk was indigenous to ancient Israel, or that we judged God, but rather He was blameless in His judgements.
Inspite of my laymen criticism, I recommend the prayer book. I use it and considering ordering the leather bound edition, but I'll wait for the new, improved,version.
Exactly what has been missing!

This is a beautiful book and it fills a need that has gone unfulfilled all of these years as a Christian. I've bounced from prayer book to prayer book and never felt that they ticked all of the boxes: the modern ones were too casual, the older ones full of cumbersome Victorian English that I find difficult to read while also trying to meditate and pray the words. (And also quite sappy and unappealing...)

This prayer book stands alone with, as the product description states, "elegant contemporary English" ~ a straight forward style, the words are beautiful and they guide you into prayer.

The book itself is just the right size, easy to slip into my purse when on the go and not at all heavy or awkward to handle.

The cover is made of sturdy faux leather, slightly thicker then standard paper back covers.

The spine of the book flexible so that the book is very easy to open and hold open even at the middle pages.

The print is a good size, solid black set against slightly creamy paper.

The headings are in red type which make them easy to catch the eye. In this way it is easy to navigate the book.

Each prayer begins with a lovely ornate capital letter which adds a lovely touch.

This was a great purchase and I know that me and my family will treasure this book for years to come!
